Ceramic sculpture born from the slow observation of landscape.
Before creating, we must learn to look.
The landscape does not explain.
It leaves traces.
Mist, water, rock, bark. Forms that change without ceasing to be themselves.
A practice born from observing how time transforms matter.
Fenerui is the sculptural practice of David Fernández Sans. Landscape is not a model to reproduce, but a place from which to observe processes: erosion, accumulation, wear, change and memory.
The landscape already contains
a language.
The surface remembers.
Form is not imposed.
It is discovered.
As the work grows, the body also enters the conversation. To build is to add, remove, support and adjust until the form finds its balance.
Process as a dialogue between body, scale and matter.
One language.
Different forms of presence.
A sculpture does not fill a space.
It changes it. It opens a distance, creates a pause and alters the way the body moves and looks.
The work changes
when someone stops.

Fenerui grows from an ongoing relationship with nature and the need to transform this way of looking into form, surface and space.
